State Basketball & Wrestling Tournament Tickets Available

Feb. 5 - Tickets are available for the 2010 OHSAA state basketball and wrestling tournaments that will be held at Ohio State's Jerome Schottenstein Center in March, and the Association has announced procedures for ordering single- and all-session tickets. The state wrestling tournament is March 4-6, the girls state basketball tournament is March 18-20 and the boys state basketball tournament is March 25-27.

State Basketball Tournament Group Value Packs Available

Feb. 5 - The OHSAA is offering Championship Saturday Value Packs for groups to attend the 2010 girls and boys state basketball tournaments that will be held at Ohio State's Jerome Schottenstein Center. Groups of 10 or more can purchase reduced price tickets for either tournament. Value packs are currently available for $20 each for the girls tournament  March 18-20 and $30 each for the boys tournament March 25-27.

2010 State Farm Scholar Athlete Award Certificate

Jan. 4 - The OHSAA is soliciting nominations for the State Farm Scholar Athlete Awards. These awards are given to senior student-athletes (one male and one female) at each of the OHSAA member schools. The award reflects the commitment of both the OHSAA and State Farm Insurance to the academic excellence of Ohio student-athletes. Click to access the nomination form.

He was once labeled "nonrestorable." Today, Nick Hyndman has gone from a wheelchair to the running track, writes music, attends mainstream classes and improves daily as a wrestler for Perrysburg High School in Northwest Ohio. Sports-Related Head Injury Clinic Announced
Feb. 3 -
Given the recent attention to and the need to continually focus on the problem of head injuries in interscholastic sports, a sports-related head injury clinic will be conducted April 23 at the Cintas Center at Xavier University. Click here for the brochure.

Benefit Game Raises Money for Injured Hockey Player, Sets Attendance Record
Jan. 21 - A New Year's Day game between Oregon Clay and Whitehouse Anthony Wayne raised money for Kyle Cannon, a Clay hockey player who suffered a neck injury in a game in November, and set a new Ohio high school hockey attendance record. Click here to read the story from the Toledo Blade.
