Sectional, District and Regional Media Credential Requests: Media
shall request credentials from the tournament site manager. Log on
to the OHSAA’s volleyball web page to access the various district
websites (for sectional and district games) and the regional
tournament site managers.
State Tournament Media Information: The following information was
prepared to assist you with your coverage of the upcoming OHSAA
volleyball state tournament. Please contact Tim Stried (tstried@ohsaa.org

additional questions. Previews and additional information will be
posted on the OHSAA web site the week of the state tournament.
Coaches and Media Teleconference:
The head coaches of the state semifinalists will
participate in a media teleconference Monday, Nov. 7. Contact Tim

Dates, Location and Website: Nov. 10-12 at the Ervin J. Nutter
Center (www.nuttercenter.com)
on the campus of Wright State University, 3640 Colonel Glenn
Highway, Dayton 45435. The Nutter Center is less than a mile from
Interstate 675. Take the North Fairfield Road (exit 17) off of I-675
and proceed north. Cross Colonel Glenn Highway and proceed directly
into the entrance of the Nutter Center on the right.
Format and Times: The divisional order of play in 2011 is III,
II, I and IV. The first semifinal match on Thursday and Friday will
start at noon and subsequent matches will begin 30 minutes after the
conclusion of the preceding match, but not earlier than 2 p.m., 4
p.m. and 6 p.m., respectively. The first championship match Saturday
begins at 11:00 a.m. and subsequent matches will begin 30 minutes
after the conclusion of the preceding match, but not earlier than 1
p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. All matches will use rally
scoring and the best three out of five sets. All games are played to
25 with no cap (must win by two), with the fifth and deciding set
(when necessary) played to 15 (no cap).
Media Credentials for the State Tournament: Media shall use the
OHSAA’s official volleyball credential application form and fax it
to Tim Stried at 614-267-1677. The deadline is noon on Tuesday, Nov.
8. Credentials will be held for pickup at Gate 9 (media entrance) of
the Nutter Center. All media must show company identification (ID
badge) to pick up their credentials. No credentials will be issued
to school, student, parent or freelance photographers.
Confirmation Email and Approved List: Upon processing a
credential application, the OHSAA will send a confirmation email to
the media outlet. In addition, a list of those media members who
have been approved for credentials will be posted on the credential
information page at OHSAA.org.
Flash Photography: Photographers are reminded that flash
photography of any kind is not permitted during OHSAA volleyball
tournament contests.
Parking: Media who have been approved for credentials will be
able to park free of charge by showing their company identification
(ID badge) to the parking attendants. Those media should park in Lot
9 and enter the Nutter Center at Gate 9, then proceed down the hall
to the check-in table.
Broadcasting Availability and Rates: Live or tape-delayed radio
and audio webcasting of all 12 matches, as well as tape-delayed
television and video webcasting of the semifinals, is available per
rates found on the 2011-12 OHSAA Broadcast Fees chart.
Media Work Space, Wireless Access, Telephones: In-game work space
for media members is available courtside on press row. Please see
tournament media coordinator Kristin Daugherty or tournament manager
Max Benton for assistance. Wireless access is available, as well as
telephone lines for broadcasts. Post-game work space is available
beside the post-game interview room.
Postgame Interviews: Coaches and student-athletes (typically
three from each team) are available following each match in the
press conference area. See Kristin Daugherty or Max Benton for the
room location.
Box Scores and Recaps: Box scores will be distributed to media in
attendance and will be posted on the OHSAA web site as soon as
possible following each match along with recaps of the championship
matches. The same information will also be posted in the Associated
Press Marketplace for AP members.
SportsTime Ohio to Televise State Finals:
SportsTime Ohio, the OHSAA’s official television partner, will
televise all four state championship contests. For more details and

Rather than sending a stringer, media outlets
needing photographs from OHSAA state tournaments should utilize the
OHSAA’s official photographer, Impact Action Sports Photography. Log

Coaches, school
staff, freelance photographers and parents of competitors are not
permitted to receive media credentials. Media outlets found to be in
violation could be subject to reduced access at future OHSAA state
tournaments.
