2022 State Championship Games - Saturday, June 4 - Historic Crew Stadium

Division II State Championship Game
Cincinnati Mariemont 14, Chagrin Falls 13 (OT) | STATS
COLUMBUS, Ohio - Lucy Lysaght’s goal 1:03 into overtime lifted Cincinnati Mariemont past Chagrin Falls, 14-13, in the Division II girls lacrosse state championship game at Historic Crew Stadium.
 
Mariemont (20-1) won its second straight state title and third overall, while Chagrin Falls (15-5) finished runner-up for the fourth time in four state tournament appearances.
 
Chagrin Falls scored the game’s first six goals and eventually led 9-1 before taking a 9-4 lead into halftime. Mariemont took its first lead, 13-12, on Piper George’s goal with 7:06 remaining. Aubree Daugherty drew Chagrin Falls back even with 5:32 left, and neither team would score again in regulation.
 
Mariemont won the draw to open overtime and never relinquished possession before Lysaght’s game-winning goal.
 
George scored five goals and Caroline Soller added four for Mariemont, while Sarah Comer had a goal and three assists. Payton Gellin scored five times for Chagrin Falls, and Daugherty tallied four goals and two assists.
 

 
Division I State Championship Game
New Albany 13, Upper Arlington 12 (OT) | STATS
COLUMBUS, Ohio - New Albany scored four times in the final 3:09 to rally past Upper Arlington, 13-12 in overtime, in the Division I girls lacrosse state championship game at Historic Crew Stadium.
 
Upper Arlington took the largest lead of the game, 12-9, when Cam Callaghan scored with 3:13 remaining in regulation. Katie Kaucheck scored for New Albany with 2:19 left, and Abby Cole scored twice in the final two minutes to force overtime. Maddy Paz scored on a free position shot 50 seconds into the extra session to deliver New Albany (21-2) its first girls lacrosse state title after three straight runner-up finishes.
 
The back-and-forth affair featured six ties and five lead changes.
 
Paz netted four goals and added an assist to lead the New Albany attack, while Cole also scored four goals. Upper Arlington was led by four goals from Callaghan and three by Kampbell Stone.
 
Upper Arlington (22-1) finished runner-up after winning state titles in each of its three previous state tournament appearances (2017, 2018, 2019).
