OHSAA Seated Division History

  • June 8, 2013: 2013 OHSAA Seated Division State Championship Recap
    • For the first time, the OHSAA track and field state tournament included a seated division in 2013. Boys and girls competitors contested four events: the 100 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters and shot put. Ravenna Southeast’s Jenna Fesemyer swept all four girls events, while winners on the boys side were Wooster sophomore Casey Followay (400 and 800), Westland junior Tim Bailey (100) and Sheridan senior Zach Hanf (shot put).
  • March 8, 2013: The OHSAA Board of Directors approved the addition of four Seated events to the State Track and Field Tournament.
    • With the addition of these events, the OHSAA is providing guidance for coaches, meet managers and track officials when a seated competitor is a member of a team competing in a regular season contest. Included is guidance on when the seated division competitors should race and how they are to be scored.
  • June 7, 2013: The OHSAA Board of Directors made a historic decision today when it voted to add eight Seated events to the track and field state championships beginning in 2013.
