Division I
Columbus St. Francis DeSales Tops Parma Padua Franciscan for Second State Title
DAYTON, Ohio- Columbus St. Francis DeSales defeated Parma Padua Franciscan (19-25, 25-21, 25-20, 25-22) Saturday in the OHSAA Division I championship match at the Wright State University Nutter Center.
 
Ranked No. 6 in the final coaches poll, St. Francis DeSales (25-2) was making its eighth state tournament appearance and now has two titles, the first being in 1982.
 
DeSales was led by senior Emma Brown in kills with 17, while senior Maryanne Boyle had 16 and senior Bella D’Amico had 43 assists.
 
Padua (28-1) was ranked No. 1 in the state of Ohio and in the country by PrepVolleyball.com. Padua was making its fourth-straight tournament appearance, eighth overall, and took home its second Division I runner-up trophy. The Bruins were led by senior Samantha Ott in kills with 15, while junior Kate Mihacevich had 12 and senior Ella Mihacevich had 38 assists.

Division II
Middletown Bishop Fenwick Wins Second Title
DAYTON, Ohio- Ranked No. 1 in the final coaches poll, Middletown Bishop Fenwick topped No. 12 Marengo Highland in four sets, 3-1 (22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-22) Saturday in the OHSAA Division II championship game at the Wright State University Nutter Center.
 
Bishop Fenwick (28-1) was making its sixth state tournament appearance and now has two titles, with the first being in 2010.
 
The Falcons were led by senior Julia Gordon in kills with 16, while senior Elizabeth Hoerlein had 15. Senior Grace Maziar added five kills of her own and 51 assists.
 
Senior Raina Terry led the way for Highland (25-5) with 26 kills, five services aces, and three assists, while sophomore Ashlynn Belcher aided with 40 assists.
 
The Falcons and Fighting Scots had a total of 35 tie scores and 15 lead changes in their four sets.
 
Highland was making its second OHSAA volleyball state tournament appearance.

Division III
Liberty-Benton Takes Home First State Title
DAYTON, Ohio- Winning its first volleyball state championship in school history, Findlay Liberty-Benton defeated Independence in a thrilling 3-2 match (18-25, 30-28, 25-23, 21-25, 15-11) Saturday in the OHSAA Division III championship game at the Wright State University Nutter Center.
 
Second-ranked Liberty-Benton (28-2) was making its first state tournament appearance. Sophomore Isabella Granger led the way for the Eagles with 20 kills, while freshman Karis Willow added 15. Senior Alissa Rhodes had 52 assists.
 
Independence (24-5) broke multiple records, including 12 service aces in its semifinal game against Wheelersburg and team kills with 75 in the finals.
 
The Blue Devils were led by sophomore Abby Avila with 59 assists breaking Division III individual state tournament record for a five-set match. Senior Katie Taliaferro had 22 kills and broke the hitting percentage record in the semifinal game against Wheelersburg with .652, while junior Grace Smotek had 19 kills and one assist. Sophomore Macy McNamara broke the record for service aces in a three-set match with six.
 
Independence was making its third-consecutive trip to the Nutter Center and took home its second state runner-up trophy.

Division IV
New Bremen Takes Home Second Title with 3-1 Win Over Fort Loramie
DAYTON, Ohio- Located just six miles from each other, New Bremen topped Fort Loramie 3-1 (28-26, 25-20, 24-26, 25-20) Saturday in the OHSAA Division IV championship game at the Wright State University Nutter Center.
 
Second-ranked New Bremen (28-1) was on a mission after taking home the state runner-up trophy in 2018. The Cardinals had an overall hitting percentage of 62 percent in the final match.
 
New Bremen was led by senior Macy Puthoff with 13 kills and one assist, while junior Claire Pape had 43 assists and junior Josie Reinhart and senior Taylor Paul each had 10 kills.
 
Fort Loramie (27-2) was led by junior McKenzie Hoelscher with 18 kills, while sophomore Ava Sholtis supported with 14 kills and junior Maya Maurer had 47 assists.
 
The Redskins were making their second state tournament appearance and took home their first state runner-up trophy.
