OHSAA Partners with Bend Active for ‘True to Your Roots’ Collection
Product line launches in conjunction with National Girls and Women in Sports Day February 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio – In celebration of Ohio student-athletes and National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Wednesday, February 2, the Ohio High School Athletic Association has announced a partnership with Central Ohio fitfashion company Bend Active and its new line of ‘True to Your Roots’ branded gear.
‘True to Your Roots’ was created by Bend Active to celebrate those who develop their talents in Ohio and are proud of where they come from as they exemplify the Bend mantra of being flexible, strong and resilient. Bend is based in Dublin and was founded in 2016.
A portion of the proceeds will support the Positive Coaching Alliance, committed to providing training and resources to ensure positive youth development for all kids through sports:

“The OHSAA is proud to recognize and support National Girls and Women in Sports Day, and we are excited that Bend Active feels the same and has created this product line to not only support girls in sports, but also those who grow up playing sports in Ohio,” said OHSAA Executive Director Doug Ute. “The enthusiasm that Bend Active has shown for Ohio student-athletes made this partnership a great fit, and Bend’s commitment to support the Positive Coaching Alliance speaks to their character and desire to assist with the very important role that coaches play in young people’s lives.”
“True to Your Roots is all about celebrating and honoring where you are from,” said Laura Heller, Bend Active CEO. “We are so excited to partner with the OHSAA and Positive Coaching Alliance to celebrate the student-athletes who develop in Ohio and the coaches who play such an important part in teaching so many of the life lessons that give kids a great start in life.”
Held annually since 1987 during the first week of February, the National Girls and Women in Sports Day celebrates the accomplishments of female athletes and honors the progress for equality for women in sports.
