OHSAA Radio “Tournament Tipoff” Pregame Show #2
This week’s “OHSAA Tournament Tipoff” basketball pregame is posted at the link below. In this show, host Marty Bannister from EBSN and the OHSAA Radio Network interviews OHSAA Basketball Administrator Jerry Snodgrass to talk about the statewide tournament draw process and the upcoming state tournaments.
This week’s show also includes regional reports from Tim Alcorn of Elyria WEOL, Chris Miller of Findlay WFIN, Bill Morgan of Dover WJER and Jeremy Scott of Cambridge AVC Communications.
Stations are encouraged to use the tipoff shows prior to their own pregame show of basketball broadcast. The show includes one local break (2:00 plus :10 joiner) so stations can insert their own spots (see format below).
All 12 games of the girls and boys basketball state tournament will be broadcast by the OHSAA Radio Network. Please see below for details.

2018 Basketball State Tournaments
2018 Basketball State Tournaments on the OHSAA Radio Network
Stations can have regional and state tournament rights fees waived by carrying OHSAA Radio Network programming

Play-by-Play Broadcasts: The network broadcasts the football state championship games, the girls and boys basketball state tournaments, the softball state tournament and the baseball state tournament. Network broadcasts include program logs, local avails and sub-audible tones. Stations that carry network broadcasts can see a reduction or elimination of their regional and state tournament rights fees.

Basketball Pregame Shows: The network produces a series of weekly basketball pregame shows that include statewide interviews and updates, state tournament previews and audio highlights. The pregame shows are 25 minutes long and include a 2-minute local break. Stations are encouraged to utilize the pregame shows before their own pregame shows of their tournament broadcasts.

Football Playoff Preview Show: The network produces a football playoff preview show in early November, the day after the final computer points are announced. The show explains the playoff format and schedule and goes around the state to break down the playoff field.
