OHSAA 2017 Student Leadership Conference
The agenda this year will include an all new theme – Be The Best. Students from more than 800 member schools are invited to send their student-athletes who demonstrate or have potential for leadership roles. Last year, we hosted more than 1500 student leaders who will be challenged to return to their schools with messages to make an impact on their communities.
Conference Outline: Each speaker will have approximately 30 minutes of speaking time on the stage with time set aside for interviews with TV news, local papers and photo opportunities.
Date and Location: The one-day conference will be held at the Ohio Union on the campus of The Ohio State University on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017.
Participants: Member schools are encouraged to send student-athletes that demonstrate or have potential for leadership roles in your school. Each school group must be accompanied by at least one adult supervisor. The first 1500 applicants will be accepted free of charge for this year’s conference. Student-athletes in grades 9-11 for the 2017 fall semester are eligible to register.
Conference Activities: The conference will include several national keynote speakers. In addition, eight sessions will be provided for student-athletes.
Video: Videos will be filmed during the sessions of the conference. We encourage participating schools to bring their school colors (jerseys, banners, jackets, etc.) for the video. This will be a fun way to get the day started and it will post it on the OHSAA Student Leadership Conference web page.
