OHSAA Radio Network Football Playoff Preview Show Posted
Network’s 55-minute radio show breaks down first-round pairings and includes commentary from around Ohio
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2016 Ohio High School Athletic Association football playoffs kick off Friday night, and the OHSAA Radio Network’s Playoff Preview Show is now available for stations to download for their use this week. Fans can also log on to listen to the show, which includes commentary from a dozen radio broadcasters from around the state.
Show host Todd Bell discusses the playoff format, including an interview with OHSAA Assistant Commissioner Beau Rugg, and gives the pairings from each division.

Football State Championship Games on the OHSAA Radio Network
Radio stations are invited to carry the OHSAA Radio Network broadcast of any football state championship game. There is no cost to carry network programming and stations that carry network broadcasts can have their rights fees waived for their own playoff broadcasts. Stations are also permitted to follow their local teams throughout the playoffs, including the state championship games.

OHSAA Radio Network Programming
In cooperation with stations around Ohio, the OHSAA Radio Network delivers play-by-play broadcasts of selected state tournament games, public service announcements, basketball pregame shows and a football playoff preview show:
- Play-by-Play Broadcasts: The network broadcasts the football state championship games, the girls and boys basketball state tournaments and the baseball and softball state tournaments. Network broadcasts include program logs, local avails and sub-audible tones. Stations that carry network broadcasts can see a reduction or elimination of the tournament rights fees.
- Basketball Pregame Shows: The network produces a series of basketball pregame shows that include statewide interviews and updates, state tournament previews and network audio highlights. The pregame shows are about 25 minutes long and include two 2-minute local breaks. Stations are encouraged to utilize the pregame shows before their own pregame shows of their tournament broadcasts.
- Football Playoff Preview Show: The network produces a football playoff preview show after the first-round pairings have been announced.
