STATE TOURNAMENT DATES: Saturday, March 8 and Sunday, March 9
LOCATION: Nationwide Arena (200 W. Nationwide Boulevard, Columbus)
YOUR HOSTS: The state tournament manager at Nationwide Arena is Tommy Trowell. John Kronour is the OHSAA ice hockey administrator. Ryan Sauline is the OHSAA’s media relations contact for ice hockey and Jack Weller is the Blue Jackets media relations representative for the OHSAA ice hockey state tournament.
CREDENTIAL REQUESTS: Scan and email your request form to Tim Stried at the OHSAA office (
[email protected]). The deadline to submit credential application requests is Tuesday, March 4 at noon.
CREDENTIAL CONFIRMATION: The OHSAA will send a confirmation email to those media requesting state tournament credentials and will post a list on its web site of those media members who have been approved for credentials. Denied requests will be notified via email.
PARKING: There are no media parking passes issued for the hockey state tournament, but approved media should check the confirmation memo for parking details and the designated parking garage near Nationwide Arena. Normal cost is $8. Additional information will be included in the confirmation email.
CREDENTIAL PICK UP: Credentials will be held at the Box Office entrance, which is located along Nationwide Blvd. beside Tim Horton’s.
MEDIA WORK AREA: Media members are permitted to remain in the facility after each contest to write and file stories.
WIRELESS: Wireless access is available throughout the facility.
BROADCAST INFORMATION: There is a $60 OHSAA rights fee charge for audio play-by-play broadcasts of state hockey games, except for participating school student webcasts (fees are waived). Stations interested in broadcasting must request credentials through the OHSAA and also contact Dylan Tyrer with the Blue Jackets (
[email protected]) to review setup and details. If approved by the OHSAA, the OHSAA will issue credentials, and Dylan Tyrer will assign the broadcast position.
