The following information is provided to assist the media covering the OHSAA track and field state championships. Please contact Scott Rex ([email protected]) or Tim Stried ([email protected] or 614-267-2502, ext. 124) at the OHSAA office if you have additional questions. State qualifiers and additional information will be posted on the OHSAA web site the week of each state tournament.
 
DATES: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 30, 31 and June 1.
 
LOCATION: Welcome Stadium. The physical address is 1601 South Edwin C. Moses Blvd., Dayton, OH.
 
SCHEDULE:
Note: See complete schedule posted on track & field page at OHSAA.org. Note that the state tournament is now a three-day event.
 
MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Media shall submit the credential application form and fax it (or scan and email as a PDF or image) to Scott Rex at the OHSAA office ([email protected] or fax to 614-267-1677). The deadline to submit credential applications is noon on Tuesday, May 28. Credentials will be held for pickup at the media entrance in the Southwest corner of the stadium. Please be prepared to show company identification.
 
Media members shall keep their credential for all three days of the state meet.
 
CREDENTIAL CONFIRMATION: When processing a credential application, the OHSAA will email a confirmation memo to all applicants, which contains important information about the state tournament, including parking. The OHSAA will also post a list on the News and Media page at www.OHSAA.org of those media members who have been approved for credentials. Denied applications will be notified via email.
 
NOTE ON MEDIA CREDENTIALS: Please note that school or team photographers, parents of state qualifiers and coaches may not receive media credentials to the OHSAA track and field state championships. Media outlets found to be in violation of this regulation could have reduced access at future state tournaments.
 
PARKING: A limited number of parking passes will be distributed to the media. Media who are approved for credentials will receive a confirmation memo explaining the parking location and parking pass process. 
 
INTERVIEWS: Interviews are permitted on the infield of the track and media may wait in the media tents located beside the awards podium. Interviews are permitted inside or outside the tents.
 
MEDIA WORK SPACE: Media are not permitted in the press box. The media work space is the Connor Flight Deck, which is located in adjacent UD Arena.
 
WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS: TBA
 
VIDEO BROADCAST INFORMATION: Delayed video coverage of the state meet is permitted. The NFHS Network has exclusivity to live video at this event.
 
REGIONAL RESULTS/STATE QUALIFIERS: Results of regional tournaments (with the top four finishers in each event in each regional qualifying for the state tournament) will be available through the OHSAA web site. Divisions I and III will be posted Saturday and Division II Sunday (the times for posting are to be determined since the process is dependent upon data being transferred from the regional sites). State tournament heat/flight assignments and participants’ information will also be posted by 4 p.m. Saturday for Divisions I and III and by 2 p.m. Sunday for Division II. Corrections must emailed to the OHSAA no later than 9 a.m. Tuesday.
