2003 Division I State Champions

     Division I: Senior forward Jordan Koblens scored seven minutes and 20 seconds into the game and fifth-ranked Westerville North (18-1-4) hung on to defeat top-ranked and previously unbeaten Toledo St. Francis, 1-0. It was the second state title for the Warriors, who won their other crown in 1995, while St. Francis reached the state tournament for the first time. North held a 24-7 lead in total shots and an 11-1 lead in shots on goal.
     Semifinal Results: Westerville North 3, West Chester Lakota West 2 (at West Carrollton); Toledo St. Francis 1, Hudson 0 (at Cleveland State).

2003 Division II State Champions

     Division II: Second-ranked Bexley (22-1-0) jumped out to a 3-0 first half lead and went on to win its first state championship when it defeated unranked Chagrin Falls, 4-0. Scoring goals for the Lions were sophomore midfielder Max Stan, sophomore forward Josh Thaboune, senior forward Jeremy Fox and junior forward Dante Brunetto. Bexley’s 4-0 championship game win and 6-0 sectional finals win was sandwiched around five close tournament victories — 2-1 in a shootout, 1-0, 2-1, 1-0 and 3-2 in a shootout. Chagrin Falls made its first trip to the state finals.
     Semifinal Results: Bexley 3, Dayton Carroll 2 {shootout} (at Dublin Scioto); Chagrin Falls 1, Lexington 0 {shootout} (at Medina).

2003 Division III State Champions

     Division III: Senior forward Chris Justice had two goals and an assist to lead second-ranked Cincinnati Madeira (21-0-2) to its second straight state title when it defeated No. 4 Gates Mills Hawken, 3-1. The Mustangs became the fifth Ohio boys school to win back-to-back titles and extended their unbeaten streak to 46 games (44-0-2). Junior forward Javier Ibarra scored the other goal for Madeira, who scored two goals in the second half to break a 1-all tie. Senior Marshall Plow scored the lone goal for Hawken, which finished as state runner-up for the fifth time and and was seeking its second state crown.
     Semifinal Results: Cincinnati Madeira 3, Worthington Christian 2 (at Cedarville); Gates Mills Hawken 2, Van Buren 1 (at Ashland).
