Cincinnati Mariemont Wins Second State Title Over Chagrin Falls

DELAWARE, Ohio – Cincinnati Mariemont junior Boden Gall scored and assisted on seven goals to send the Warriors to their second state championship in the OHSAA Division ll boys lacrosse state title game against Chargin Falls Saturday, 12-9, at Selby Stadium at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Mariemont scored three straight goals in the third quarter to take the lead for the rest of the game. Sophomore David Dorsten scored three goals with four shot attempts off the bench. Junior Max Tepe scored three goals and had one assist. Mariemont finished the season 16-5, while Chagrin Falls finishes 16-8.

Gall had five assists which set the OHSAA state championship game record. Mariemont also tied the OHSAA state championship assist record with eight.

Dublin Jerome Wins First State Title in Last Minute Over Upper Arlington

DELAWARE, Ohio – Dublin Jerome senior Carter Barco scored the game-winning goal with 28 seconds left to send the Celtics to their first state championship in the OHSAA Division I boys lacrosse state title game against Upper Arlington Saturday at Selby Stadium at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Upper Arlington (21-2) scored four straight goals in the fourth quarter to take a 11-10 lead before Barco assisted on the game tying goal by senior Jackson Byrne with 2:38. Barco then scored the game-winner unassisted to cap off his three-goal, three-assist game. Jerome finishes the season 22-2.

Jerome had eight team assists and 45 shots, which both set the OHSAA state championship game record.

Upper Arlington junior Sam Burns scored five goals for the Golden Bears, which tied the OHSAA record for goals scored in a state championship game.

Cincinnati Mariemont Wins Second State Title Over Rocky River

DELAWARE, Ohio – Cincinnati Mariemont scored 10 goals in the first half of the game on its way to a 16-6 win over Rocky River in the OHSAA Division II girls lacrosse state title game Saturday at Shelby Stadium at Ohio Wesleyan University. Mariemont’s first state title came in 2018.

Mariemont seniors Marley Megowen and Marah Campbell led the team in scoring with Megowen scoring five goals and Campbell scoring four goals and one assist. Mariemont’s 16 goals and 27 shot both set the OHSAA state championship game record. Mariemont finishes the season 19-3, while Chagrin Falls finishes 15-7.

Olivia Konopka led the Pirates in scoring with four of the six goals scored.

Dublin Coffman Wins First State Title with a Last Second Goal Over New Albany

DELAWARE, Ohio – After New Albany scored two goals in less than two minutes to tie the game, Dublin Coffman freshman Ava Westmeyer scored the game winning goal as time ran out to send the Shamrocks to their first state championship in the OHSAA Division I girls lacrosse state title Saturday, 13-12, at Shelby Stadium at Ohio Wesleyan University.

New Albany (20-4) scored four goals in the last 10 minutes of the game to tie the game at 12-12 with less than a minute to go before Bailey Morris assisted Westmeyer on the game winning goal. Coffman finishes the season 18-5.

Kate Tyack led Dublin Coffman in scoring with five goals and one assist, setting the OHSAA state championship game record for most individual goals. As a team, the Shamrocks had four assists and 29 shots, which both set the OHSAA state championship game record.

New Albany sophomore Abby Cole had four goals with three of them being in the last ten minutes of the game.
